Hubbard Announces Retirement

As of yesterday's second offering I hit 500 published posts on this blog. Some are pretty much worthless, just made for one joke or an update on earlier events of the day. Nevertheless, 500 published posts is a milestone of sorts.

I wanted to celebrate in a manner consistent with what would entertain me considering my near infinite selfishness. I was just going to throw together some more amusing bits collected over the past few months. Fate intervened and someone in the skeptic community mailed me a link to an interesting video. Humor is important to keep people interested instead of, oh, putting up the same two digit numbers every day and instantly crying hoax. But humor, however lame, can wait.

Before I put up the link I'll go over some of the important points with approximate times in the video. A gentleman named Carl Y. Stike, a 9/11 Truther, has supposedly uncovered proof that Google has been working on updating the search algorithm to make things more difficult for the hoax videos to get promoted. The release date of the new algorithm is scheduled for the 1st of next month.

Supposedly there is a list of the top names that the algorithm is intended to target. Carl, being in the top ten of that list, has taken it upon himself to contact some of the other big names. (Alex Jones being conspicuously absent from the contacts as he's apparently way too full of himself). Zachary Hubbard is also in the top ten.

So, there's an audio clip in the Sticke video that sounds like it could be Hubbard. Curious that there's no video accompanying this. The commentary is typically vague, but it does suggest without application of "wishful thinking" that Hubbard will at least take a long break and maybe give it up permanently.

The video is about 27 minutes long. If you want to bypass watching the entire thing I've recorded the times of some of the best parts here.

1:07 - Screenshot of news story of Google, Facebook and Twitter activity on search algorithms after Parkland shooting.

1:49 - Screenshot of email to Carl from the "mole" inside Google, screen name Ghastly, about the release of the new search algorithm.

3:29 - Carl shows the list of top targeted names. It's far too small to make out and could be a grocery list for all we know.
4:13 - Whine about Alex Jones being a sellout shill for disinterest in the cause.

5:00 - Carl drops his water bottle on his foot. Not important, but the overreaction is amusing.

5:14 - 17:32 - Rant

18:21 - Start of Hubbard audio clip.

18:59 - Hubbard quotes "I'm taking a break, but gematria, I'm never going to give you up."

21:07 - 26:32 Further rant; call to arms.

So there you have it.
