I saw a claim that the Pythagoreans practiced gematria. Presented in a manner of, "Well, duh of course they did."
I can't find any account that uses the words 'gematria' and 'Pythagoras/Pythagorean' in the same text except on gematria calculator sites, or in a manner suggesting Pythagoras/Pythagoreans didn't practice numerology.
This appears to be treading into the territory of what historians call, "Making shit up as you go along.". I will address this in a few days in a post regarding critical thinking.
