The Return of Measles

When childhood vaccinations became routine people grew accustomed to the process as being a routine that was certainly not fun, but necessary if one wished to raise a family.  Despite the typical don’t tell me what to do attitude that is even more popular today, no vaccination - no school.  There’s little else in the anti science propaganda that exhibits the deadly consequences like anti vaccination content.  Taking for granted not getting one of the big name childhood diseases lead to not caring about them.  Like the long forgotten bad dream that for all purposes they were.

Key word WERE.  Effective anti science propaganda has given us a resurgence in measles.  People got tired of getting pokes in the arm.  People had restrictions for Covid in place that prevented what were once routine vaccinations.  People assumed that it was something that only affected other people, not them.  The fact that a side effect of having measles could be deadly was less important than complaining about the economic side effects of Covid recovery like high gas prices.  The squeaky wheel gets the most attention.

And how on Earth does gematria fit into this picture?  Or flat earth, or the weird shit in the sky?  Aren’t these just silly and harmless?  Even kind of amusing to the casual observer smart enough to know the insanity behind the belief?

Anti science content has been around for a long time.  And health issues have suffers the brunt of the attacks.  It’s easy to make a new fad diet or pick some arbitrary solution to a health problem.  It takes a little more effort to up the game to the next level - but the first order of business is to attack the experts.  Those with the actual knowledge about what’s going on.

Sure you have free speech rights to voice your opinion that you think Ivermectin really cures Covid.  You have your life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to engage in the wrong answer being fun for you.  It’s not so fun for those on the herd that suffer the consequences of your illiteracy and ignorance.  Our fad diet used to be a best selling book.  Then it was half hour infomercials on TV.  Now it includes sock puppets on the internet talking about how the numerology of Covid and measles matches the Jesuits and the Antichrist.  And some of the promoters of anti vaccination content can easily get up to date on their own vaccinations and still preach how evil they are.

The author of that book was active on Twixter as the whole vaccination/mask mandate/ivermectin/hydroxychloroquinine/Covid is a hoax clusterfuck of misinformation and disinformation was raging.  His pursuit of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - which includes empathy for others - was rewarded with death threats.  Of course Fauci was treated the same.  If measles or something else explodes to pandemic proportions there WILL BE others that are targeted by grifters looking to make a quick buck.

The gematria crowd has calmed down a lot lately, but there’s no reason to believe that the next pandemic won’t see a return of the same anti science angle to the narratives.  The only question right now seems to be is if it will be Alex Jones leading the charge, some other known big influencer of today leading the charge, or if somebody new will step up to the plate.
