Danth’s Law Part 2 - It’s Not Just The Zachosphere

The exact same elements of a Hubbard “debate” video.  Starting with a scientifically incorrect conclusion, then cherry picking and reverse engineering some topic to present fake, thoroughly debunked “evidence”.  And find some unfortunate fellow to try to enlighten the other viewers.  

And make sure to interrupt them, not give them a chance to finish their points.  Slamming the door on an actually meaningful discourse with the golden hammer, “I’m not wrong about anything.”  As Danth’s Law says, the more you need to resort to the childish name calling and just saying you’re right about the argument, the more obvious it is that you are wrong about the actual topic.  A real debate has two sides discussing a genuinely debatable topic in a calm and respectful manner.  And judged by an unbiased audience that is swayed by the weight of the evidence in the presentation.  

Like Zach’s gematria debate videos the flat earther videos have the same problems.  Combining a facile presentation to encourage user participation with scientific technobabble to confuse the more aware and insincere debating tactics leads inevitability to contradictions.  You can’t have it both ways.  You’re either actually right about everything and it would be common knowledge by now, or you may need to at least tweak SOME points and accept being corrected.  

But these videos are not about being right.  They are theater.  A show to the newcomers who identify the flat earther concept as something that actually makes them feel smarter than they really are.  Just post some Attaboy!^TM content to their comments and string them along for as long as possible until they cough up some bucks on those flat earth t-shirts and caps and maybe even that convention coming up early next year.

Conveniently, SciManDan is not ignorant of Zach, having crossed paths with him earlier this year.  I forget the exact wording, but I believe the clip shows Zach commenting about SciManDan something like, “You’re a sorry ass mother fucker, you should have a bullet in your head.”

I found SciManDan’s video seven minutes after it was posted.  By the time I finished the comments section was already filling up with discussion of the flat earther being a grifter and his modus operandi.  It’s completely understandable that those with real knowledge are a target to be attacked, but what’s coming up here is how people that are supposedly your friends, fellow truthers, also get this rough treatment.  There is no honor among thieves.  See the bus coming before you get thrown under it.
