I have to admit that I’m at a loss for a solid explanation for this, especially after looking over the other similar material this account generates.
My go to snarky comment about the ease of gematria in generating matches is so simple that the real challenge is to not find a match. Because that’s true. Usually when a large list of gibberish phrases like this is produced there is a focus on one single reappearing number. Yet here, even with the classic manipulation tactics - misspelling nyneteen, spelling out numbers as words to get different numbers, combining both of those, throwing out a series of meaningless letters, not all of which can be considered Roman numerals, there is no clear theme.
It’s not devoid of matches. Some of the other content this account has fewer phrases and absolutely no match, but it’s not a gesture of defiance to the debunk, “Look here smart ass, I have no matches! How do you explain that? Hah!”
So thinking about the origins of when gematria first took off and current activity I have two guesses that are on opposite ends of the spectrum. First of all, this person could be so lost in the rabbit hole and their brain is damaged beyond hope that they can’t even handle the most basic aspect of gematria decoding - finding matches.
The other guess includes the basic principles of Alex Jones method. Engagement is more important than being right. And using being obviously wrong does get attention. The twist here is that normally you are wrong about a topic like a school shooting being a hoax or vaccinations. Then your gematria proves that you actually are right. But if it’s deliberately bad gematria, I can honestly say I didn’t see that one coming. And I’m well practiced in the correct approach of not directly engaging with people that put out gibberish like this. Not everyone can have the fortitude to resist correcting this lost soul.
This appears to be a variation of what I call reverse trolling, where deliberately being wrong for engagement is used to stir up activity. And it works. Constantly being wrong with the same thoroughly debunked and baseless content does get the type of person who isn’t aware of what is really going on to step in and act as a white knight to save the world. Then, other members of the wolf pack get a ready made target to counterattack. That’s where the engagement explodes, as long as the reverse trolled target continues to engage the wolf pack is fed, gaining confidence in their new found ability to harass people on the internet.
A practical application of deliberate incompetence in a real world and not gematria & internet grifting setting would be the world of employment. Maybe you own a pool hall. Your pretty girl at the front desk knows nothing about pool and even hates playing. Hired for the reason that it’s your friends daughter and she can’t even handle the front desk well. But her presence is tolerated because someone else is watching over (probably resentful they need to babysit) and she does perform a function of drawing in young men that like to flirt while they play pool. And to not sound too misogynistic, the guy hired for a bank teller management position. A nonexistent not overtly stated carrot is dangled. Howard is such a nincompoop, if I work harder, surely the bosses will get rid of him and promote me…if I just work harder and wait it out. And maybe Howard separated himself from the many other incompetent people that could have been hired because he’s been sleeping with some gal higher up the food chain. Whether there’s nepotism, bribery extortion or not in the hiring process, the Peter Principle topic is a real issue, incompetent people can and do exist in businesses everywhere.
Returning to the world of gematria and Alex Jones, there is a case to be made to have deliberately bad decodes put out on the internet. Even without the white knighting aspect, any new gematria user that stumbles across this gets psychological reinforcement that they are a better decoder than this person. Maybe they’ll even invest some time into producing a better (less wrong decode) that doesn’t necessarily get posted. The original poster of that list is on the surface anti-Trump. By logical deduction and using psychological projection, there’s an undercurrent to suggest to pro Trump types that they are superior in decoding. Therefore Qanon content is correct. As I’ve said before, whether by accident or design, often gematria as conspiracy lite content leads to other more harmful content that has a more lucid argument. Which invariably at its best is simply less wrong.
