Know Your Gematria Grifter - Creating A Decent Story, E978

I suppose I’m nostalgic for the good old days where a story would hit a chord and take off in a watered down version of something going viral.  Back when someone among the top of the pyramid scheme, someone who darn well knew they were concocting a fable, would break out a decode and the bottom would get absorbed into the rabbit hole, all chiming in with little tidbits to add to the initial story.  Like finding the first Pi reference or 33 to gain the coveted Attaboy!TM from the cult leader.

Having a pretty good grasp of criminal psychology I’m well suited to describing the thought process.  For today’s lesson in how to create a reasonably believable gematria story I’m choosing to use something I’ve never seen before instead of something from the greatest hits album, like Kobe Bryant or the Antichrist.  Keep in mind that this is the mindset of a ringleader and not the gullible flock.

Let’s start with one of my favorite sources.  Rationalwiki random pages.  A sort of encyclopedia of debunking bad ideas.  There’s always the comments sections of conspiracy videos or Fox News talking points for more mainstream sources.  I keep an eye on the links boxed off in the right margin as essentially more random pages to search from.

At first I latched on to the Michael Snyder article and his Economic Collapse blog.  I really don’t want to talk about current events, so I kept searching and then I found it in the orange colored conspiracy box.  E978.  That sure looks like a candidate for bogus gematria.  But what exactly is it and how does it fit into a conspiracy?

It actually is descriptions of legal execution cause of death.  And conspiracy theorists claimed it was endorsement of legal execution.  In particular the completely made up idea that it’s linked to Obamacare.  That’s a great start.  Now before going too far in little details of other non 978 numbers we need at least one big hit.  Something to be the main plot point before character development on the minor players.

And for that we head to the Gematrinator calculator and it’s 6,923,104 different ciphers to choose from.  And lo and behold:

There’s the big one.  The main keyword of execution has a high quality match without the fuss of phraseshopping in similar words like executioner, lethal injection, guillotine or whatever.  But what’s that you say?  1978 isn’t the same as 978?!  Never forget the gematria rule of, “Fuck it, close enough.”  The top number to ignore is by far 0.  A lot of energy has been invested in the 0’s don’t count rule and hypocritically ignoring that when convenient.  The 9-7-8 are in the correct order.  Any other leading digit other than 1 would be pushing your luck.  But 1x978=978 so that’s just fine.

Also keep in mind that while looking at the resulting gematria of E978 there’s 987 in Capitals Mixed.  That might be worthy of a side note.  Or you can let the gullible flick find it and proclaim what a great catch that was.  Or maybe just give your Attaboy!TM to a sock puppet account if nobody bites.

But we need something else.  Because what does 1978 look like?  Why is 1978 actually a blessing instead of being an exact match?  It looks like a year.  And not even that long ago that it’s ancient history.  Break out your search engine and look up executions in 1978.  Alas not perfect since nobody was legally executed in the U.S. that year.  Those pesky Supreme Court rulings on capital punishment.  But just the mere fact that it’s a year, oh that’s golden.  They love to quote date numerology like it’s gematria when it’s not.  And never underestimate the gruesome nature.  Anything related to death and killing is super cool.  There is a prominent search result for Clarence Dixon murdering Deanna Bowden in 1978.  Two more names to work with.  ASU to work with.  Or you can run with the factoid that Arizona’s execution statute was ruled unconstitutional in 1978.  And don’t forget to tie in some Arizona sports somehow if it becomes convenient.

But don’t overdo anything.  Let the trail of bread crumbs lead to the rabbit hole and lure in the unsuspecting.  As conspiracy theory light its interactive.  It’s a community effort.  It’s a fine balance between presenting yourself as the final authority and leading the flock to believe they are smarter than they are and doing some fake research to massage their egos.
