Raffling A Few Feathers

Ruffling.  Sorry.  Ruffling a few feathers.  Stupid autocorrect.  Or maybe it was the Jesuits changed my title, yeah that’s it.

Often Hubbard makes it pretty clear that his online rhetoric is not something he truly believes in himself.  He may or may not be as racist as he appears when ranting about fellow truth seekers.  A fellow truth seeker, especially one that decides to put out sports betting content is sure to come under his raid-ar.  And if deemed to be a threat will generate a violent response.  Not physical, but ANGRY ZACH is much more fun for the target audience than the occasional (very, very VERRRRRYYY occasional) “I’m really a nice guy look at what I’ve done for the world” hypocrite Zach.

One of the sore spots I’ve uncovered that gets a mention is his dubious claim to be a teacher in Washington state.  Now I suppose it could be, but according to reproducible research accessing Washington public records, there’s no Zachary Keefe Hubbard recorded as a teacher there.  Ever.  Long ago I generously suggested he could have been a private teacher.  I find that unlikely as the I was a teacher story was not presented in that manner and as far as I know there’s been no attempt to produce and post a copy of any certification proving me wrong.

That’s just background for where we are headed today and not too important, other than knowledge about public records is something that is researchable and instead of just busting on the stupidity of gematria, sometimes the dubious claims presented can actually be debunked.  So I can’t take credit for this.  The SportsGematria channel that recapped Zach’s dismal failure in this last NFL season?  He found out that Hubbard’s recent raffle promoting his “great work” and attempt to unload some unsold gematria merchandise may not be legal.  And based on the wording, sure looks like it wasn’t legal.  Different States have different rules, and even regarding online activities.  Less than 50% say you can’t do online raffles.  And Washington is one of them.

Basically, in order to be allowed the side hustle of selling merch he was required to be licensed in Washington.  That same merch was raffle prizes.  And somebody motivated to pay attention caught it.

Now first of all, I’m one of those people that is dismayed on how the legal system states things that appear to be cut and dried but don’t act on them, like Alex Jones still operating the same way he always has despite the judgments.  So I doubt anything serious will come about other than a slap on the wrist.  But it should make one take pause about being involved with somebody who doesn’t mind bending the rules.  I predict a tiny fine, say I’m sorry and I won’t do it again kind of verdict at best.  At worst, we’ll get another raffle next weekend in defiance of the evil empire “being out to get me” defense.

And he does have a charity.  Maybe.  At least it used to be promoted on his Zachary on the Corner YouTube channel. So it’s possible that’s an out.  I find the charity to be dubious also as that would require filing for a separate tax ID number and, well, actually making sure the money went to a charity.  Which seems really unlike somebody begging for subscribers to a Patreon.

And a final note.  The big prize, the microphone.  Of course it went to the person most likely to make Alex Jones style content.  The kind of person who has already made a back up YouTube channel with the introduction to it proudly proclaiming how one of its purposes is to ride out a YT community strike on the main channel.  The person who helped Zach in the campaign to troll Net Void I’ve previously mentioned.  How convenient.

Correction 2/13/2024 - The microphone mentioned above was a gift, not a raffle prize.  This doesn’t change how the intent is to reward a loyal follower for being a faithful troll.
