This blog is a form of pre-bunking. Don’t get caught up in the recent sports content, deep down there’s a message. People spouting gematria are at best just innocently spending some time (arguably wasted) fiddling around with fun number connections. At the worst, they are heavily into it’s more prevalent persona - fake evidence to help misinformation and disinformation spread.
As far as effectiveness, this blog is likely not terribly important without the mass dissemination of the content possible with the prebunking videos mentioned in the 60 Minutes segment. But it’s my little baby and in a lot of ways for my own amusement.
Gematria has been pretty well prebunked at this point. And a lot of it has to do with them being their own worst enemy. It’s designed to appeal to the less than average intelligence level which is more importantly susceptible to the misinformation tactics making them feel smarter than they really are. Now you too can “decode”. You are an investigative journalist. You are actually doing something instead of just watching the video and nodding your head in agreement. What it’s not designed for is long term embrace of just gematria alone. It requires an adjuvant or enzyme to catalyze it into a misinformation story. It needs that pandemic, mass shooting or celebrity death to jump start it. These guys and gals simply don’t have the initiative to spend a lot of time doing anything other than an after the fact decode. Genuine predictions fail on a regular basis.
Why I’m saying they’re their own worse enemy - each and every video is already prebunked. The mere fact that it’s a gematria video means we know it’s bullshit. You know what they are going to say in advance way more often than not having a clue about what’s coming up. The sports decodes will claim there’s a correct prediction when no genuine prediction was made. Every celebrity that dies is a ritual sacrifice. Somebody is the Antichrist and the end of the world has been soon for over a decade. Somebody will make a big deal over a two digit number match between to separate words, connect them and marvel over it not realizing that the number of the day would actually appear hundreds or even thousands of times if they did gematria of more stuff than they do. Alex Jones style topics will be parroted since that’s the main source of people woefully susceptible to spending money on the wrong answer. And of course someone is going to ask you for money regardless of the topic.
And they really did themselves a disservice with the overpopulation of sports decodes. If they didn’t spend so much time fighting amongst themselves we wouldn’t have all the fun clips of Hubbard contradicting himself and lying like crazy to justify his mediocrity.
Which isn’t to say we’re out of the woods completely. Gematria has a grip on those who engage in disinformation where deliberately putting out bad information for engagement is the goal of the prebunk. If they deem gematria to be too silly and not big enough to waste time with they will just find another avenue for the delivery system.
As the sands of time drop through the hourglass a significant amount of media has built up on the topic of gematria. Although it’s concerning to not train them on what they are doing wrong to make a correction, something resembling the correct answer needs to be out there. It doesn’t need to be character assassination (as fun as that is at times) but prebunking nudges to encourage looking for the right answer instead of the wrong answer. I think that’s called education.
