Yep. Because of Theranosification, which sounds like something I would make up but I heard in a YouTube podcast, we have an intriguing film. An offbeat film. A film about the dangers of narcissism
YOU CAN SEE…
Buddy on YouTube.
See what I did? You thought I was going to mention the Elizabeth Holmes documentary and I was deceiving you. One of the prime elements of Theranosification, unabashed bold faced lying.
But seriously, there’s more similarities than you might think.
And maybe that’s because my algorithm knows I like that, but it keeps popping up. Obsession —> Narcissm. Backrooms —> Narcissism and a shrink for a character. So although now you can see me is shining with its exploration of the Silly Con Valley mindset, that’s a little too heavy for kids. A little much, and maybe the same way Coyote vs. Acme is a kiddie lean in to corporate greed, and just like gematria was a light version of conspiracy, kids could use a fun romp about narcissism.
Buddy is a horror comedy. It openly admits that it is a parody of kids shows like Barney. Buddy is a unicorn (and so much more), who has a heart symbol on his tummy. And literally requires children to say that they love him.
