(Bread) And Circuses

This started when I had the misfortune to look into Alan Watt.  Specifically, I heard that his website looks so awful that it’s painful to view.  That experience was pretty much true.  There’s very little positive to say about the layout, but most importantly there is a lot to say negatively about the choice of colors. Just because you can use multiple font and background colors, doesn't mean you should. You never know when a new crank magnet wannabe will turn towards old content for inspiration.  And it’s possible the Gematrinator turned here for an example of how not to do things regarding color selection

Alan is cut from the same cloth as Alex Jones (and Hubbard) regarding the idea that the New World Order is distracting us from their nefarious activities by allowing us distractions.  Give the sheeple a little food, let them watch some sports games on The Tube, give them a little bit of gambling, and when the master plan is finally to be revealed it will be too late to actual rally any resistance to whatever tue vague and ever changing, incorrectly predicted master plan is.

This is described by the phrase ‘bread and circuses’ and is a real thing since it usually works.  Since it is a real thing, it’s nauseatingly repeated by conspiracy grifters.  The origin derived from Roman political leaders allowing the not terribly happy masses some food and gladiator combat for entertainment.  Modern day is something like actually working on reducing gas prices and dithering around on sensible internet legislation regarding harmful content while secretly only caring about how your re-election campaign is going.

The ineptitude of the NWO regarding the bread part is astounding.  One of the first things to do in more classical warfare and cultural disagreements is to cut off the supply of resources.  People really don’t like to go hungry.  And most people eating a couple square meals a day, day after day, can’t actually appreciate what it’s like to be really, really starving.  People desperate for food react unpredictably, even violently.  Even the threat of an actual cut off of food and necessities is a powerful motivator.

People complaining about fictitious evil empires are not that desperate.  They’re putting up memes on the web with their pricey phones and associated apps and accounts.  They are complaining about the cost of extra storage to do livestreams instead of just a quick video of their decode on why the NWO chose to flip the script on them.  If the bread part is ever actually talked about, it’s a myth.  It’s all about the circuses.  The less the government takes away from your paycheck means the more money you have for entertainment.  This creates chaos in the polarized political atmosphere.  How dare you not allow me my circuses because there are social programs sucking up my resources for people actually needing help.

If your thoughts stray towards the bigger picture you may already be aware of the upcoming irony.  The lack of long term planning and the mind boggling cost of just mitigating, heaven forbid solving, the climate change issues.  I want my expensive golf club membership today!  Who gets to play golf decades from now when tough decisions maybe including rationing water for irrigation means no more water for silly golf courses?  Ski resorts are closing because of lack of snow.  You like your gun for hunting, outside in these temperatures?  Good luck.

People that get involved with some kind of psychic sports pick circus tend to be the type of people that are already experiencing some sense of desperation financially.  At least from the comments on the videos and what content they post on social media, that’s what it looks like.  Their choice of an outlet for entertainment, gambling, is a zero sum choice.  You’ll hear congratulations to the few winners, and in the meantime there are far more losers, even in the short term.  And everybody loses in the long term.  Sadly, conspiracy grifting is a weird source of entertainment.
