The Origin of the Gematria Class of Battleships

Zach, ever the master of shameless self promotion, has rolled out a semi-regular recap of why the secret knowledge that’s never won anybody (including himself) a fortune is the most important thing ever.  His wealth is from the subscriptions to the Patreon, and we suspect a lot of those are old and never cancelled even though long ago forgotten.

At least now the news channel and the sports channel are better segregated on YouTube.  The sports channel is all sports, including the weirdly doubling up of titles that have an equalish amount of views.  But, if you want current events you hop on to the Number Games channel to get more sports content and you get some current events rage bait.  Just what we need.  Another take on the Reiner murders, California floods, Candace Owens vs. Erika Kirk, and the Brown shooting.  Just to let you know that engagement above meaningful content is what’s still happening in the 2020’s.

Within the importance of the gematria knowledge we get some superficial commentary on lifestyle changes you can do to save money.  Don’t eat overpriced junk food and cook your meals at home.  Drink your coffee black, because sugary stuff is bad.  And the government and sports leagues are persecuting him.  Which is definitely not true, because what’s really going on is the problems of generations of improper education have come home to roost in full force now.  Bad information as cover for the current regime incompetence is now a decade old and is just a symptom of the cronyism sycophantic incompetents that are center stage.  And that includes RFK Jr. and his lack of health knowledge not being called out by the rage bait promoting fake intellectuals who drink their coffee black.  And Linda McMahon who doesn’t care about if you know that the idea of spending a lot of taxpayer money on the outdated idea of a new class of battleships is, being as generous as I’m willing to be, a really fucking stupid idea.

There still is real quality information on YouTube.  If your research technique is to jump into a gematria video first, if that’s what makes you feel the best, your closed mindedness is preventing you from a chance for real education.  There’s no magical solution presented by Binkov.  And maybe you shouldn’t listen to a military garbed Kermit the Frog knock off that looks hungover.  Not because he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, but Peter Jackson did the drugged out puppet look better in Meet the Feebles.

Some of my battleship knowledge is from unrevised to appease a dictator actual history in documentaries, factionalized war movies and totally fictional action movies hiding naughty ideas in plain sight (like Starship Troopers being about fascism where sometimes boots on the ground are necessary instead of just a big battle cruiser bombing from space).  But more of it was from old wargames.  Moving cardboard counters around to simulate combat between foot soldiers, aircraft, and of course naval vessels.  And within that preexisting knowledge base, I have the luxury of knowing that the battleship class of ships was obsolete before WWII was over.  Before and during WW1 they reigned supreme.  Big gun from far away made of steel protecting the tender meat puppets inside from people that couldn’t effectively shoot back.  But the trade off for a big piece of steel with giant guns is a sitting duck in the face of aircraft with bombs and hidden submarines with torpedos.

The shift to aircraft in WWII was so complete that the Japanese navy redesigned what was supposed to be a third super battleship, the Shinano into an aircraft carrier.  Both of the first two, the Yamato and Musashi, the pride of the Japanese battleships, were pummeled into sea bottom scrap metal by air attacks.  As for the Shinano, yeah she lasted about a month after being launched from the dockyards.  A single U.S. sub torpedo.  All in all, the big ponderous heavy gunned battleship idea died with these as well as the deaths of Germany’s Bismarck and Tirpitz.  At least Bismarck was an old fashioned big ship vs. big ship fight instead of the indignity of tiny little planes dropping bombs from above.

The basic concepts of what I put in that last paragraph are part of my education.  Sure, I had to look up some details to be sure I wasn’t putting out bad info.  But the core details are part of my brain.  A brain not addled by a lifetime of NPD and excessive need for adoration.  Or excessive wealth.  Because although not sure what the reason is we know some things that don’t work.  It doesn’t matter if it’s attention grabbing to stay relevant or an immediate need to be an optically strong military to justify further bombing of tiny boats, or a genuine long term attempt at nuclear capable intimidation.  Like Binkov recaps the Trump battleship plan is flawed and a waste of time and money.  Even if the design gets nailed down.  Due to generations of poor education we don’t have the qualified ship building capacity to manufacture the big, ineffective targets to be.  Or staff them with quality personnel.  And that’s a lesson we also learned from history as Japan ran out of decent pilots.  A loss that turned a solid crew of pilots at the beginning of the war into shoddily trained target practice and only good enough for suicide mission kamikaze runs at the end.

There is some quality information in Zach’s “importance of gematria” video.  Like battleships, conspiracy gematria is obsolete.  It was born obsolete, stolen from old material the scammers of yesteryear used.  Preying on the same lack of education the misinformation, disinformation and propaganda crowd uses.  The same bad information corporate greed uses to cause the same problems he brings up with junk food, overpriced meals, and sugary coffee without being up the actual sources of our misery that we should be investigating.  Gematria videos are a great basic education in how to identify bad information.  Look at the source material.  As soon as Gematria is brought up without the appropriate, “what the fuck did I just read?” reaction somebody has a problem.  You’d be better off educationally by touching grass for entertainment by remembering that G4 isn’t gematria coding, it’s just an old game.

A lesson in how to translate a gematria narrative.  And the beauty of this is it is a recent example instead of on old cover up that requires looking at old material.  Here’s your source material.

Dutifully and annoyingly, Hubbard provides football bets to his loyal audience.  And with as long as his show has been playing at the Gematria Comedy Theatre, just based on the large quantity of material produced, the lack of editorial review and bad luck - shit happens.

A relatively simple and basic math error.  A tiny burp in the Matrix that should be no big deal to even the most vicious critic.  Until he Streisand Effect’s his way into making it a big deal.  What could have been better off being ignored and moving on, well that’s gone.  A simple, “Ok, I was wrong about that one” would have gone a long way to provide a cover up was met with the hypocrite’s defense.  The double down and providing more bad information on top of the original bad information.  “ESPN was wrong.  Or ESPN changed it.” is what you’re hearing.  The properly translation of that gematria narrative is:

I’m a hypocrite that just wants your money and I’ll say anything to further the illusion of my fake intellectual infallibility.

Now let’s make some assumptions for argument’s sake.  Let’s say that conspiracy gematria has real value and that Zach is genuinely looking out for the best interests of his followers.  Help them win some money.  Let’s ignore all the speculative sidebars of how everything is a gamblification scam and the violent and racist content doesn’t matter.  Somebody, a person who claims to be an accounting graduate and school teacher would know that 277+22=299, not 298.  And when confronted by a journalist with the simple mistake, the correct response is something like, “Oh yeah, I messed that one up.  Sorry about that.”  Not finger pointing and scapegoating and throwing the blame on ESPN.

In the bigger picture, this is the way that influencers who are just bad actors, grifters ranging from pool hustlers to corrupt politicians, cult leaders, and your dog looking at you with sad eyes all act.  I’m invincible.  I’m going to do whatever I want because….reasons.  I’m smarter than everyone else.  Well.  Math^TM would like a word.  And Math^TM  is the bad gematria math where antonyms have the same value and it’s easy to find a counter narrative using the same numbers.  Real Math without the trademark, the scorecard of another losing season in the works isn’t terribly happy either.

Another funny thing about the word accountant, as in allegedly being an accountant, is that it’s etymology is  used in another word, ACCOUNTABILITY.  Which these days is being used most often as the end of the phrase, “lack of accountability”.  Your friend, coworker, and relative stuck in confirmation bias based thinking may not be ready to dive headfirst into the finer points of what alleged leaders are saying.  It may be too soon to jump right into why the Epstein files release last week being basically completely redacted.  It may be too soon to go beast mode on why it’s not great that the bombing of tiny and defenseless boats is not being held accountable and you’re missing that you accept it because you’re on MY TEAM.  It’s certainly not cool to go hardcore about the strange things going on with religious topics while many of them are genuinely good and decent people that need space to come around.

Knowing who to trust is tough.  And sometimes the simplest off ramp is the best to get the ball rolling.  And it’s not just that the tiny mistake that’s the problem, it’s the part of a pattern.  The hypocritical response of always being right is mathematically impossible.  And using someone’s own words against them, oh that’s so much easier when they keep making the same mistakes over and over again.  Truly smart people are famously able to recognize patterns the lesser minds miss.  Truly smart people know they don’t know everything and absolutely adore the expertise of others to fill the gaps in their mind.  Truly smart people recognize trends within patterns and are absolutely terrified about what’s going on, not only for how it affects them but for those that surround them as well.  That’s called empathy.  And one of the ways to spot a lack of empathy is the hypocritical and contradictory statements those who are only interested in themselves display.  Being smart and empathetic means recognizing that just because you realize that a dumb mistake in a dumb topic like gematria is, well, dumb - it doesn’t mean that others aren’t affected by it.

So my hero for today is the Sports Gematria channel.  The content is extremely repetitive and isn’t designed for an effective, “Look at my coolness, subscribe to my Patreon” scam of his own.  People are definitely biased towards recency, that’s why outrage porn/rage bait has been so effective.  Keeping it fresh isn’t for long term subscribers as much it is for educating newcomers to the darker world of how our stupid and biased brains continually trick us into doing stupid and biased things.  Bright minds are inquisitive.  Bright minds want to be educated.  Bright minds gravitate towards meaningful things.  And smart people want to educate others, often selflessly.  So Sports Gematria, keep it up.  We salute you.

The Rob Reiner Effect

Just like no gematria guru is decoding the Super Bowl in depth yet (you need to wait until the playoff teams are finalized so you know how the identical numbers for multiple teams need to be forced into a narrative), nobody is talking about the Rob Reiner Effect.  Except me.  And now is a good time to recap my gematria and misinformation origin story.

I was about 17 years old when I admitted to myself that math and science made sense to me.  That not only did the content make sense, but the process of structuring my thoughts to make better conclusions from a set of complex data made sense.  I developed truly independent thinking and really didn’t like being forced to “jump on the bandwagon” or “keep up with the Joneses”.  I also learned not to be a dick.  Not because it was a holy text that told me, but just because that also made sense.  I also learned that entertainment media was sneaking in cultural and social issues and I learned a lot more about life from them than a classroom.

Also interesting and ironic that it was mid 50 degrees Fahrenheit here yesterday when the temperature in the 70’s would have been more likely to be freezing, but I guess climate change is a hoax.  But you’re a dickhead and a bad guy if you point that out to the wrong people.  But that’s enough of a sidebar.  If you need a classroom to tell you that seeing wasps flying around in the winter isn’t normal, I really don’t know what to say.

What I learned along the way with my structured thinking is that my memory is really good.  And boy, do dishonest people hate that.  Open antagonism and pointing out there wrong never worked, so I just kept it to myself for over 30 years.  Relishing the chance to do smart person stuff on my own as things got worse and worse at work.  Smart things like watching Jeopardy!.  Where although I’m not astrophysics level smart I could excel at with my abundant pop culture reference points.  And that’s when I encountered my Rob Reiner Effect moment.  My, “WHAT THE FUCK DID I ACTUALLY JUST READ?!?”  moment.

Long forgotten about now, her name was Cindy.  She was a multiple day champion.  Personable, knowledgeable, not as brash as some other long term champions.  Somebody worth cheering for.  A real life heroine instead of a comic book one, because as it turned out, Cindy was dying of cancer while her Jeopardy! run was being filmed.  And she knew it, but it was her dream and the TV execs made it happen.  Without making it about how great they were.  It wasn’t even announced right away.  But when it was I found out that.

She was supposedly an actress faking it because the Freemasons wanted to rig football games.  Well, not directly that chain altogether all at once.  But as I dug in with my superior to your average conspiracy theorist research skills, that’s what I found out.  This is not ordinary level insulting.  This is insulting on a thermonuclear scale.  So after just a couple of weeks poking around I decided to give something back to the world I never truly fit into.  A free education on what I learned and am still learning about misinformation and disinformation.  Intellectually far more fulfilling than arguing with people about if middle 50 degrees Fahrenheit in December is normal and “Ok”.

And boy does that free part really piss off the scammers.  It’s much easier to ride the wave of anti science and anti intellectual sentiment if you can legitimately point a finger at their monetization efforts.  The goal is not to get more attention to myself.  Nobody in the mainstream media is hunting me down for an interview.  But what has happened is I’ve helped educate other educators.  People who now talk about the right issues, for the right reasons and are willing to provide actual evidence based on reality instead of something like crisis actor Alex Jones style bullshit.  People who are a lot smarter than me looking into practical solutions for fellow human beings because simply not being a dickhead is the right thing to do.

I’m not posting Trump’s Truth Social post about Reiner.  That’s already spread all over.  This is one of the biggest foot bullets in modern history.  It’s one thing for one of the most powerful people on the planet to be disrespectful to the enemies.  It’s at a whole new level of thermonuclear tonnage disrespectful to take a well known and beloved figure like Reiner and mercilessly assault his character at a time when your poll numbers show the disgust people have for you.  But this is part of the malignant narcissist playbook.  Trump was never brilliant or kind and as mental disease takes grip of the shattered remnants of his brain.  He simply can’t take a few minutes break from being an asshole, much less not be an asshole for three more years.

And finally the Rob Reiner Effect has mobilized some in the Republican Party.  Oh they’ve known he was bad news after the first term.  But that was at a better time when occasionally someone could talk him down off a ledge.  You know Don, maybe we should try to do something effective about the pandemic?  Like maybe not start making stuff up about horse dewormers?  Etc…. The Rob Reiner Effect.  Another fracture that makes political survival look ahead to a future without the Conman in Chief.  A blatant display of the character flaws that should have disqualified him a decade ago.

And the Rob Reiner Effect is not going to help the economy.  We’ve already, by association as a country, proven we’re incapable of electing effective leadership.  Let’s list a few ex friends.  Canada.  Mexico, Ukraine, France, oh hell everybody targeted by the tariff fiasco.  Why would we expect anything better from a country that can elect a petulant and corrupt Republican replacement every four years?  A country with an opposition party so weak and ineffective that the best we had to offer was a not mentally great Biden?  America is not trustworthy, they’d rather insult Rob Reiner than actually be a team player.  Let’s trade with China.

From the first Kingsman movie, just to throw in another pop culture reference and solidify that it’s all over entertainment media if you are paying attention.

Gamblification, Enshittification, Normalization & Gematria

I thought it would be a good time to remind everyone of the dark origins of gematria.  That is, conspiracy theory gematria.  And let’s start with the current U.S. Administration.

Although I still have regular non internet interactions with delusional people that insist that what’s going on with the economy is normal and good, the rational and sane world is pretty much totally pissed off.  When you’re go to strategy is to break things so that it’s impossible for the enemy to fix all of it, the blaming the other guy tactic starts to get overused.  I still contend the GOP would have been a lot better off playing it cool for just a bit while longer instead of just jumping in head first with Trump.  But I’ve had the luxury of knowing Trump’s uncontrollable narcissistic nature having worked for an extended time with a toxic person.  A person that was nowhere near the level of ill mental health that Trump displays.

The fighting and jockeying for position and trying to grab as much power as possible is natural.  Without any checks and balances, there’s no honor among thieves.  No handshake that can’t be ignored.  No treaty that can’t be broken.  No alliance that can’t be suspended at a moment notice.  Opportunism is how conspiracy gematria started.  A niche that presented itself as the Alex Jones content conflated free speech with “good ideas”.  The entire conspiracy gematria community was formed based on a handful of early players who burst on the scene that essentially followed Jones business model.  Like Trump’s State of the Union address, MAYBE IF I SCREAM LOUDER PEOPLE WILL ADORE ME WHEN I GIVE THEM BAD INFORMATION.

Now, while Jones focused on overpriced supplements and survival gear the gematria community did have one original part.  But let’s bring up Enshittification for those that don’t know.  It’s the process of how a website starts of decent, then ignores user value in favor of advertising $, then just self destructs as the goal ends up just being to extract as much money before the site dies.  So since gematria had numbers, and part of the Enshittification of the entire internet is gamblification, gambling was the go to for those misinforming and disinforming.

Gamblification, pretty much a subset of Enshittification, is how gambling is everywhere now.  Things that shouldn’t be gambling are turned into gambling.  Traditional more common Gamblification is something like a game with loot boxes where you pay hoping you pick up something that gives you a game edge.  A bragging right.  Gematria, instead of gamblifying its source material of conspiracy content had a natural release valve.  Sports betting, especially the love affair with American football.  Football games have lots of numbers, lots of variables, lots of fans.  The perfect conspiracy lite pipeline beginning point.  A fake edge to one up the bookies by a magic code.

I always got the sense that a significant number of sports gematria didn’t care as much about the gematria as the gambling.  Gambling, being designed specifically as a no win proposition over the long run gave rise to a lot of unhappy with traditional gambling losers looking to make it big with something.  ANYTHING.  To maybe break their losing streak.  After looking closely for any media reports for all these years, I’ve yet to see a media story where somebody has reported life altering gematria based income.  That’s real media, not social media where the reported winners all follow the “look at my gangsta lifestyle while I charge you for my magic secret” format.

If you haven’t figured it out yet, the internet can be a psychologically damaging place.  Instead of positive social skills people only learn what gives them immediate gratification.  Addictive behavior is encouraged.  Pull that slot machine arm today, deal with long term planning tomorrow.  A tomorrow where you’re a little bit poorer and a little more unfulfilled and psychologically damaged.  Instead of socialization, the normalization of toxic behavior is thrown in your face.  Come for that sweet Super Bowl pick, stick around and hear about how trans people or other arbitrary scapegoat is the problem.  And maybe you’ll start to think about other solution to your mental state.  Like, nothing could possibly be your fault.

One of the keys to learning who to trust is how often the person you’re listening to acts like a hypocrite.  When confronted with objective truth of being wrong it’s best not to present your stance as supporting diametrically opposed positions. Lack of consistency is hand and hand with hypocrisy.  It’s interesting to note that many of Zach’s videos included wording about how the elite were giving the masses their bread and circuses while ironically normalizing the gambling that is actual circus activity.  But search for a buck or two thousand, well that doesn’t allow for much consistency.  You’ve got to go with the flow, and speak what everyone else is complaining about.

Sorry for that if it’s triggering, but the point is to show the oddity of how completely different the target of the wrath is.  A direct and extended  verbal assault on Jews that is out of place with the focus of the Jesuits today and equally out of place with the simultaneous for 2016 Freemason/Illuminati/NWO content at that time.  Does anybody even casually mention the Freemasons anymore in conspiracy talk?  Give it enough time to normalize again, but for now it’s so limited it’s pretty much non existent.

But don’t worry about Zach.  Sure the gematria content in YouTube is mercifully minimal these days.  Not having channels suspended for violations is also normalized.  Any content that leads to more views and more advertisers is good for YouTube.  Regardless of its moral repugnance.  And he’s probably blitz scaled him way into long term passive income and who knows what other deals with the devil he’s struck up?  Money laundering commercial real estate?  Copyright violations?  Video distribution?!?  It’s far more likely that someone openly admitting to want to create his own Holocaust is willing to say anything for a buck and heaven forbid he’s actually serious about it.

The final point is that gematria isn’t the problem.  It’s a tool to be twisted into part of some other scheme.  Years in the future something else weird and seemingly harmless will replace the hollow area formed by gematria for the last decade.  Someone new who talks fast and pretty who likely has mental health issues will catch the fancy of the current crop of no critical thinkers and opportunists.  Somebody will always be looking back in time because there’s not enough education to support innovation of something meaningful like a better wealth distribution system or a governmental system that takes checks and balance.  This era of normalization is breeding a wave of deregulation that doesn’t go well with the costs of decades of ignoring climate change.

Looking Ahead To Christmas 2189

…with gematria.

Why 2189?  Because it’s the closest year in the future that has that super magical 1-8-9 in it.  And why should it be 189?  I mean, specifically what is it about the gematria of 189 that’s so special?  We’re glad you asked.  The three postulates of gematria and other bullshit conspiracy theories that apply here (there are 163, but I’m not taking the time to detail them now) are:

#3). People need stupid shit to distract them culturally while the big fish (the elite, the RARE) engage in a self destructive pissing contest over hoarding of resources.

#11). Skeptical hedonism - That which mildly inconveniences me MUST BE BAD FOR EVERYONE!!  My feewings are more important than you having immunization from diseases, or being able to survive a car crash because of sensible attitudes towards wearing a seatbelt.

#104).  The foundations of predictive programming.  Media of today is inevitably the predictive programming of tomorrow.  The database is growing every day.

Yes, we know that 163 is a lot of postulates to deal with.  Arguments about how many there really are rage on, mostly because gematria (as the poster child for bullshit conspiracy theories) is absolutely not real math.  There’s lots of overlap and liberal amounts of making shit up as you go along.  Especially when you combine noted time traveler Myron V. Doosle’s as yet unwritten book about the bootstrap paradox and his three chapters devoted to gematria and how it applies to the year 2189. When in doubt remember the number one assumption.  If you have a complaint about the content here, start your own fucking blog and make up your own rules.  At least then we know you’re not just following what is said by people who make shit up about affordability every day without it being a conspiracy theory.

#3 Merry Christmas 

Christmas is that lovely time of the year when arguing about economics, politics, religion, any cultural topic you can think of, and the farthest away from yelling at the kids to get off your damn lawn as you can get - reigns supreme.  In the Northern Hemisphere.  Because fuck those damn Southern Hemisphere shitheads for having the audacity to not be privileged enough to have snow at Christmas time while they enjoy their 80+ degree Fahrenheit temps in their summer.  And while we’re at it, fuck them for using 30 degrees Celsius instead of Fahrenheit scales.

The rare double match, where you KNOW that MUST MEAN SOMETHING IMPORTANT.  What are the odds?  And nothing so simple sets your confirmation biased based recalcitrant family member off than those two words.  Are you allowed to share a meal with someone who won’t dare say Merry Christmas?  Is it ok to not believe in Christmas at all?  Is Xmas Ok?  Is ICE going to stop you from picking crops for shitty wages for not wearing a MERRY CHRISTMAS emblazoned sweater?!?  The RARE - the Rich Assholes Ruining Everything don’t really care.  They’re just capitalizing on the social media stupidity that distracts from the economics that’s going on.  Populist political talking points for votes over morality.

#11 Does it really matter?

Does it matter if you are on team Merry Christmas, Team Happy Hanukkah, Team Agnostic, or Team Please Be Quiet and Just Pass the Fucking Gravy?  And why are you dropping so many F-Bombs?  My blog.  And not having thoughts about monetizing this to sanitize it for mass consumption is me being me.  An individual.  Now since we’re here, ok, I’m Team Just Give Me the Fucking Gravy all the way.  Deal with it.  But there’s no way I’m going to try to force you to be Team Fucking Gravy.  How you deal with that, that’s pretty much your problem.  If you’re not on my Team, part of my tribe, I’ll eat Christmas dinner alone or find someone who is on Team Fucking Gravy.  At least until the Weyland-Yutani Corporation forces me to say Merry Christmas and gravy is too expensive.

It’s actually quite effective to be a little bit off instead of an exact 189 double match.  You’re DECODING.  It’s a secret that only a super spy with super smarts can figure out.  You are a fucking GENIUS for noticing that 1x89=89 and that’s your three digit 189!!  Whoopppeee!  Attaboy!^TM. Babylon 5 -The TV Christmas Episode Nobody Talks About

And lucky you, you film lovers, the entire five year run of Babylon 5 is available for free on Tubi right now.

That would actually be more fun for a politically independent person to view for the first time and compare with current events.  Because like other media (Star Trek, Doctor Who) science fiction media is notorious for dropping social commentary about recent events into the middle of lasers, weird alien races, and shit blowing up.

Babylon 5 in its entirety is one big long story, planned in advance to have an overarching theme.  Within the first few seasons the characters are established, we know their personalities and can predict somewhat how they will behave in a spur of the moment crisis.  But this crisis is not spur of the moment.  And that long building crisis is the authoritarian takeover of Earth by President Clark.  And a lot more than a quick one liner joke from a Simpsons pop culture reference that was buried over a long running series this entire episode comes off as startlingly prescient.

The alien races on Babylon 5 serve as proxies for different cultures.  President Clark is the Trump figure (although more competent).  Earth is “the bad guy” regime using military force to silence dissent.  And very specifically, it’s about ex-Earth military resistance and current regime fence sitters having to deal with illegal orders.  And if you don’t see a parallel with what Hegseth and Trump have been up to with bombing boats and the ex-military congressional member response, you shouldn’t be watching it in the first place.  You’re probably super closed minded and more likely to think it’s stupid and unwatchable.  

Clips of this episode are making the rounds on the “naughty” social media spots.  And we know what the gematria/zero actual evidence crowd thinks about it from history.  Although the entire series is about illegal authoritarian takeover, the crickets are deafeningly silent about this bit of “predictive programming”.  The whole concept of predictive programming, in practice, is purposefully stupid.  It gives the Alex Jones fan something to complain about from a show that notoriously threw so much shit on the wall that some of it was bound to stick.  While Babylon 5 was based on actual history of conflict, authoritarian power grabs, and silencing critics through force instead of having viable long term ideas to benefit society.  It’s not prediction, it’s a historical documentary wrapped up in starships and pretty special effects.  The gematria decode would be to wait until Trumpism dies out or find if he gets his wish of being king of the world.

Oh, what about that Christmas tie in?  Christmas has a lot of good qualities, even for the secular crowd.  It’s a time to put aside your differences, fit in long enough to eat way too much food, spend way too much money that currently you are far more likely to not be able to afford, and do nothing more political than argue whether Die Hard is a Christmas movie or an action movie that just happens to be set at Christmas.  If 15 year old little Johnny asks for a Christmas present of the entire five season box set of Babylon 5 because he saw a clip of this on Facebook, following the dictates of the pushes towards extremism the reaction could be either disgust or joy.  The, “What have I done wrong that he acts this way?” to, “That’s my boy!!!”  Although it could be the neutral let’s watch it together during this time of the year.  I myself never miss a Christmas season viewing of two of my actual Christmas favorites - It’s A Wonderful Life and Krampus.  About as tonally different as you can get.

When I watch the scene of G’Kar and Mollari where G’Kar is offered to share a drink given to him, I think of Christmas 1914.  A day when two opponents in a crisis said, “You know, today, just for today let’s not try to kill each other.”  The Narn and Centauri despise each other.  Diplomatically at odds the entire series until they sit down here.  Two representatives mulling the long term consequences of an epic crisis with generational impact.  G’Kar appears to totally refuse the burial of the hatchet, until we find out that instead of just a knee jerk spur of the moment emotional reaction he did the correct thing.  He thought things over; measured his response.  It’s clear he’s not totally on board with becoming friends with Mollari.  He’s not certain that lasting relations between the races is possible.  He doesn’t need to be.  “My house is on fire today.  There are bigger fish to fry.  Maybe, just today, I’ll try to not be a totally dickhead about stuff.”

So now let’s swing back to the obeying illegal orders content.  There are clearly, on both sides, way too many people afraid to talk about the core of the issues facing the global political atmosphere.  Way too many Team Narn or Team Centauri gung ho my way or the highway types.  The beauty of pushing towards extremism through misinformation resulting in perpetual monetization and protests and ineffective leadership foot dragging.  The right people are not sharing a Christmas drink together.  The people most in need of sitting down and saying, “You know, maybe, just maybe for today I won’t be a total dickhead about stuff.”  We’ve scene this movie before, this illegal order thing:

Instead of clairvoyance it’s far more likely that this kind of thing is the inspiration for the Babylon 5 writers.  A dark chapter of history you’re not supposed to know about.  The kind of thing little 15 year old Johnny might find out about if he gets “radicalized” by the naughty websites he starts visiting.  Definitely best not to bring that up at the holiday dinner table.  But also most definitely not a subject to hand wave away for eternity because “my team did it, so it’s fine.”

And that’s why bizarrely Babylon 5 created a great Christmas episode.

Meritocracy, Nepotism and Financial Intimidation

 

Meritocracy and Nepotism are opposites.  While meritocracy can seem like some sort of unattainable and utopian ideal, the greediest people aren’t just more likely to have obtained wealth and power, they are more likely to have achieved that status by “knowing the right people”.  Having connections and buying fake truth with cash instead of earning it because of genuine expertise and proficiency.

Within the movie Wall Street you get a sense that Gekko does have a semblance of competence.  He puts in the hours that back up his moral code.  It’s a modernized Dickens tale, retelling the same themes with the same messages we’ve know about before the modern twists.  (The Dad Joke maker in me is getting side tracked with “Oliver (Stone) Twists” right now.)  And this is the part where the hyper nationalism enters the room.  Every economic power house thinks they are different.  They are special.  They’ve decided that they are special and things will be different this time.  And that’s how democracy and common good slowly switches to oligarchy.  My personal wealth is demonstration of how greed is good.  I’m special.  I’m different.  While the real Wall Street during the movie Wall Street era was infested with malignant narcissism and it was actually no big deal to go bankrupt and start over again because you had connections.

The idea that education matters in a nepotistic society is a cruel joke.  It’s non stop ignore what is written in the governing document and financial intimidation.  You might start to analyze a confusing array of evidence better as your critical thinking skills evolve.  Have fun making a difference if the student loan debt crippled you for the rest of your life.  You might demonstrate an understanding of how to keep accurate records.  And maybe that’s how you landed an accounting job fresh out of college.  But good luck making a difference when that makes you work 65 hour weeks so the oligarchical partners make back room deals to hoard wealth.  You may understand that legally blowing up boats that may or not carry drugs is problematic.  Good luck making a difference when your coworkers, whether they believe it or not, are talking about how it’s “no big deal”.

An influential class of educated or skilled people.  The oligarchs of today are sure influential.  It just doesn’t have anything to do with education or skill.  It’s not just cheating the system, it’s keeping it perpetually rigged that it doesn’t even matter if you get caught.  And again, we knew about it in 1987 with Gekko.  We knew about earlier with Potter in It’s a Wonderful Life.  We knew about it with the real life Roman Empire, the Dutch and Great Britain.

And what disturbs the most is that although we have lots of thoughtful commentary about media, like maybe this:

We still are not able to get beyond a simple state of how the morbidly wealthy and powerful never serve any interest but their own.  (Look at the date of that article.  2007.  Didn’t something happen in like, 2008, that kind of showed that something funny was going on in the financial sector?  I…I just can’t remember what it was.)

So let’s run through some of the lack of meritocracy hit list again.

The legal system has left the building.  (Supreme Court)

The accounting industry has left the building (Fake and restated numbers investors rely on)

Education left the building a long time ago.  Makes the kiddies too depressed.

We’re being forced spent a decade on gematria decodes where everybody’s always right and therefore everybody’s always wrong.

We’ve embraced the “burn the heretics” and “attack the eggheads” lifestyle.

We’re being forced through financial and physical intimidation to admire some of the shittiest people on the planet.  Like it’s not enough that lack of cooperation creates Gekko admirers in their own.

Scams, White Collar Crime, And Financial Censorship

Do you remember the 1987 movie Wall Street?  Not because you just accidentally stumbled on it in the selections of a streaming service last week, but either in its first theatrical run or a Blockbuster rental?

In today’s environment, you need to explain to the modern gung ho conservative a truth so obvious in the eighties.  Michael Douglas as Gordon Gekko - he’s the bad guy.  There’s those lousy woke communists in Hollywood with their damn subversive material again.

Back at the time Wall Street the movie was made was peak trickle down economics era USA.  A career, something you would stick with for your entire lifetime at a single job, was part of the American dream.  A country dominating the world economic scene that now clearly rewards the Geckos of the world over the Bud (Charlie Sheen).

To be fair, it’s not that the modern gung ho conservative would admire Gekko for what he is.  He’s cartoonishly over the top sneering villainy.  Greed is Good isn’t just a handy catch phrase when sliding down the villain pope to switch into his Musk mask, it’s the way he lives and what he believes down in the core of his being.  Stepping on the little man, and totally unconcerned about the little person lives below his golden throne of greed.

Bud is also cartoonish.  There’s a typical Hollywood redemption arc.  It should never have to come down to the elaborate revenge scheme that brings Gekko down.  There’s supposedly a Securities and Exchange Commission to stop a Gekko from rising to power in the first place.  Yet here he is in the over the top, “I can do whatever I want because I’m filthy rich.”

And there will always be people who would view this for the first time and subliminally or willfully misinterpret the points.  And that’s helped along because other than the redemption arc revenge plot it’s got some nuance.  That is, nuance that leaves a reasonably intelligent viewer room to speculate on after the credit events that are not shown.  Is it just Gekko going a step too far and other wealthy Wall Street execs are fine?  Should Bud have abandoned family and embraced the lifestyle of cheating to get ahead?  Or did the most common interpretation make sense, a rather unthinking reaction to it.  The knee jerk, Gekko was a dirt bag and got what’s coming to him.

Reframing the movie to modern times, and you should reframe instead of accepting it for the era it was made (new information is available and it’s good critical thinking to check around), it’s about Bud’s reasons for revenge more than the actual revenge plot itself.  Is there a line he would not cross?  And this is exactly where society at large at the global scale is, now.  Are you willing to sacrifice a bit of common decency for more comfortable access to resources or do you want to actually get along with people long term?

The financial sector has always been a breeding ground for greed being good.  The unhealthy relationship between greed, debt, long term sustainability, family values, etc… has fostered a workplace environment that is basically worthless for morale.  Your job is your life.  Your job and coworkers are your social network.  And as worker rights that were fought for tooth and nail get stripped away, even the most mindless work drone knows something is off.  Something is wrong.  And financial censorship is designed to keep them quiet.

If you were to encounter the real life Gekkos (yes, I have) they universally support Republican ideals.  And as the middle class erodes support of any kind of balance is slipping away.  Presentation of homeownership, an affordable education landing a single job career, access to health care, saving for retirement, saving for the future for yourself much less your children are still being shown as achievable goals. And they are, but only if you cheat.  Because greed is good.

And that’s why everything is a scam now.  The two way street of a self fulfilling prophecy; an infinite feedback loop.  You can’t have a society of mindless drones at the same time as having an educated and competent workforce.  Everything is “oH nO, mY iNvEsTmEnTs” white collar scam, greedflation, unregulated obvious cockamamie fraud like gematria sports betting, and the entire middle class living paycheck to paycheck.  The extent of the hypocrisy has reached epic proportions.  Politicians should be leading, should be making business policy to…what’s the word…REGULATE the economy.  Now we’re at the phase of the government deregulating itself; declaring economic sanctions on itself (tariffs).  Progress and progressives = BAD.  Gekko remaining rich with no actual benefit to society at large = GOOD.

I’m calling bullshit on that one.  But hey, that’s just my line in the sand was crossed over 40 years ago.  If you want to ignore how the different oligarchs are locked in a big pissing contest to see who can keep being too big to fail the longest, knock yourself out.  The financial censorship is working just fine for you.

Inflation And The Modern Conspiracy Theorist

Picking up where I left off last weekend, to clarify and add to

Fascism talking points are intellectually lazy. 

But they don't have to be.

The underlying facts and actual evidence, as well as the presentation matters.  A recent interaction reminded me that one of my superpowers is an overactive bullshit detector and a long ago developed understanding that this detector is not average or normal.

The new breed of conspiracy theorist is talking about actual conspiracies.  The old breed of conspiracy theorist, the ones that proudly announced they were a conspiracy theorist, were adding fuel to the fire.  Whether intentional or not, the desire for attention, money, a quick dopamine rush, whatever drove them into the extremism pipeline - people got caught up into listening to the all or nothing red/blue, fascist/communist, liberal/conservative rhetoric.  And that’s ended up just as badly as expected by a lot of people.

Instead of gematria decodes or anything Alex Jones said finger pointing and scapegoating, the genuinely inquisitive people thirsting for actual knowledge should have been searching for the underlying causes to economic issues.  And now, the social media zone is being flooded with people that have been willing to put in some time and energy to their presentations.  People like this Cold Fusion video I’ve linked.  In that, his demeanor, his ability to calmly and respectfully present his evidence without SHOUTING OUT THAT I’M THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE THE WORLD SO BUY SOME OF MY SUPPLEMENTS BECAUSE THE SOCIALISTS ARE RUINING FOOD PRICES.  Or whatever bullshit spin Jones would have put on it.  The kind of presentation truly independent researchers should be consuming to make you think about things instead of buying overpriced and dubious quality supplements.

Now I’m way too biased to translate and transfer that information to others.  I have the background of literally invested thousands of hours into real conspiracies and bullshit conspiracies.  I have the curse of a great memory and my own personal experiences to draw from.  For example, when I was younger candy bar manufacturers didn’t just shrink the size of the candy bar.  There was a definite pattern.  One year, the bar would shrink in size by 15%.  The next year the price would go up by five cents, but along with the psychological mind fuck of boldly announcing that the bar was 15% bigger.  Then since the manufacturing process had these two sizes easily interchangeable it wasn’t like they needed to build a new plant to switch it out.

As I said, my brain is poisoned. I watch and listen to that video and pretty much instantly translate it to, “Yeah, jack up the prices beyond inflation, don’t increase worker pay and some CEO gets an extra 10 million a year with no benefit to society at large.  But at least in addition to that author there’s references to other research and studies showing that reported inflation numbers and the pricing and quantity adjustments actually made don’t add up.  If you’re worried about affordability like you should be you deserve an explanation of what’s really going on.

And now I continue on my personalized journey through this post and my life experiences.  First a simple one.  Recently I mentioned some recommendations, thinly veiled as just some channels and videos I’ve been watching.  Damon Cassidy recently put out an economic related video where he collaborated with According to Nicole.  My algorithms led me to Nicole before I saw that video.  They complain about the same things, so it’s no surprise that they hooked up.  Both have been producing content for years that doesn’t just apply to the bad news in the prior day headlines.  Both give off the down to earth, “ordinary person” vibe I appreciate.  And you can watch the older material and still have it apply to today instead of it relying on scapegoated anger of what bad news was in yesterday’s headlines.

And that’s meaningful content.  Content that the truly inquisitive people will find if they are going to do actual research.  The new conspiracy theorists don’t label themselves as conspiracy theorists.  That in itself has been turned into an emotional appeal of sorts, and that’s always been, “look at what an intellectual bad ass.”  Other than the natural desire to have profit for their efforts, the new conspiracy theorists shouldn’t even be called that.  They’re educators.  Now I’m feeling guilty.  Here’s what works for me saving you money, because rich assholes everywhere have been fucking things up for a long, long time.  Strangely, the new generation of conspiracy theorists doesn’t mention an ever changing scapegoat of Freemasons, Jesuits, immigrants, Jews, lizard people, Arcturus death fleets, chemtrails spreading governments, holograms of political leaders, etc….

The truly inquisitive keep learning and can see the hypocrisy when the consistency disappears.  If there’s a cover up, there’s got to be a reason for it and 99.999997% of the time it’s money and the associated power.  So before I post about financial censorship and intimidation tomorrow let me wrap up with something this guy just learned a couple days ago.

I watched an algorithm poisoned by my bias recommendation video about corporate greed.  In that I heard an oldie for me, about Reagan setting the tone in the mid seventies for trickle down economics.  Then, I heard mention of Jack Welch, CEO of GE.  The commentary about Jack in that video already matched my confirmation bias - there’s a lot of cash grabbing now because I don’t care what happens after I’m dead.  Geez, that’s weird that I’ve never heard that before.  Let’s see what the internet says.

 

There you go.  His legacy is controversial.  For now, if I’m being honest with myself I need to look at a story with more than one side, some nuance.  And there’s a lot more to that AI overview than just what I’ve displayed there, much less the internet as a whole.  But what I wasn’t disappointed in, that’s the gematria reaction.  For Zach it was Freemasons, for the Gematrinator it was a ritualistic sacrifice.  Somehow, I don’t think those angles are worth exploring any further and I’m just going to settle for some more realistic sources.  Like maybe I can post a comment in Damon or Nicole’s library asking for their input.
